Touring
In 2006 – 2009 Get Moving worked on behalf of the Arts Council to deliver and co-ordinate a market town venues network. The network offered a variety of opportunities for venues in Yorkshire to meet, share resources and ideas, have subsidised and programmed companies to perform at their venue and to benefit from joint planning and fundraising initiatives. In 2007/8, many of the venues benefited from subsidised annual licenses to Dig Yorkshire to allow online ticket bookings for their shows.
The MTVN has continued into 2009 and is involved in many collaborative projects. The network is looking at additional funding to continue working collaboratively to develop joint programming and other touring performances in 2009/2010. In connection with the NRTF, Get Moving will be planning tours for artists from Norway, Poland, Denmark, Estonia and Finland in 2010-2012. These companies will offer cultural concerts and performances with puppetry, dance and music.
